Working Out At Home – Can It Help You?

by

Television is loaded with infomercials for home exercise DVDs that promise to build muscle, and help you drop the fat. The real question is, do they actually work? Are any of them worth the money. If you have tried these kinds of products before, chances are you have been disappointed after finding out that it was all hype.

It’s frustrating isn’t it? I know how it feels to try different workout programs and get little to no results from it. It isn’t motivating, it makes you feel like, “what’s the point?”. With all the so called fitness experts and nutrition gurus screaming at you that their way of exercising or eating will make you “melt” all those pounds of unwanted fat like a stick of butter in a microwave, it can be confusing and difficult to find a fitness program that works for you, especially when you are looking at a workout to do at home.

Is it worth the price to get a home exercise program like P90x? I know many people wonder whether or not they can achieve excellent fitness from their home without any expensive equipment, so below we I discuss it.

Gyms make their money from selling memberships. Why would someone want to pay a membership to a gym? A good gym is stocked with lots of high quality expensive equipment. It is so expensive that the average person isn’t going to be able to afford buying all the machines themselves. It also isn’t practical because these machines take up a lot of space. It makes sense then, to pay for a membership for access to this gym equipment. However, do you really need access to high quality expensive gym equipment to get into shape?

Many people think you can only get into really good shape by getting a gym membership. This simply isn’t true. You can get into great shape doing body weight exercises in your own living room. You don’t need expensive gym equipment. Calories don’t care if they are exercised on a machine or in your living room. You can build muscle pumping iron, or by using an inexpensive pull-up bar.

You can absolutely get in amazing shape from your own home with a home exercise program. No expensive equipment is needed. Many workout programs utilize your own body weight or affordable (and space saving) resistance bands to provide resistance training. For cardio, some programs utilize dance, boxing, kickboxing, plyometrics, or Kenpo Karate to get your heart pumping. The best kind of home fitness program will include both resistance training and cardiovascular workouts.

P90x is the perfect example of an excellent home exercise program. It includes 12 workout DVDs and a nutrition guide that tells you what to eat. It is a 90 day program that once you complete, you will be amazed at your results.

Get fit at home. Use these P90x transformations as motivation.
