“My Wife and Kids” is a comedy series aired on ABC Network. Television and movie actor Damon Wayans stars in this hilarious family drama as the central lead Michael Kyle. Michael Kyle is a loving husband and a responsible father of three children. He has got some specific rules in conducting the matters of his household. His affection for his children can be seen when he teaches them the way to lead life with discipline, making them understand with his self educated experiences and humor.
The story shows a solvent African American family in Stamford with a father owning a truck company. The mother Jay is a lawyer. Their son Jr. his girlfriend Vanessa and their baby boy. Michael and Jay’s senior high school daughter Claire and their baby daughter little Kady. This is a well knit family, attached with love and emotional bonds.
In the journey of life the family members experience numerous experiences. Comedy has always got its own flair but to preach morality with a lamination of comedy is something very unique which is shown in this series. Different issues and the way outs from complications with stomach aching laughter situations is the unique selling point of the show. Michael is overcautious about his children and always tries to explain them do’s and don’ts of life. Michael affection towards Jay becomes very clear when he offers her a job in his concern after she loses her job as a stockbroker. The family supports Jay a lot when she decides to resume her career and starts studying again. Her planning also includes being a businesswoman in the trade of restaurant. In the family the teenage couples Jr. and Vanessa just have a baby boy. They are young and inexperienced in child care. Specifically Jr. becomes a little bit restless in this situation. Readily help comes from his dear father Michael who at the same time rebukes Jr. and guides him a lot. Claire is a girl who is growing up fast to become a lady. Her anxious father becomes so much protective about her that she finds it a bit difficult to lead her normal life. Ultimately Michael is convinced about his daughter’s maturity level. The little one Kady has inferior complex with the arrival of another baby, her nephew in the family. But soon everybody’s affection assures her about her value in the family.
The viewers love My Wife and Kids as it gives the message of high family value and positive approach towards life with a fine blend of hilarious comedy.
Different characters are played by a group of talented artists. Tisha Campbell plays Jay and Damon Wayans is Michael Kyle, Jr. is done by George Gore III and Jennifer Freeman portrays Claire. Parker Posey acts as Kady.
ABC has become very successful in making people laugh in this stressful world by presenting such a comedy family drama appreciated by all.
