The primary cause of electrical fires is a poorly maintained wiring setup. The naked or frayed cords/cables keep inviting possible hazards. In order to prevent your home from such forthcoming fire hazards, fix the wires and the cords in such a way that they complement the overall safety of the setup. Look out for loosened out wires or suspended cords and replace them with immediate effect. Grab a voltage tester and test the plugs and the outlets for naked wires or joints.
Once the hanging or loose wires are fixed, move to your outlets and receptacles. The overcrowded sockets are a common sight in a lot of households. Dissociate the added number of plugs from the socket and derive a suggestion from an expert on the permitted number of plugs.
Never place the flammable or combustible objects in close proximity of the heating appliances such as water heaters, boilers etc. Also, the curtains and the garments must not lie close to any of the electrical appliances.
