5 Negative Side Effects Of High Protein Dieting For Women Wishing To Sculpt Their Arms
We used to only eat what could be taken from nature. Back then, arm flab was probably not on most women’s radar.
Enter mass food production and the promotion of fad diets.
Once industry found that it could make a substantial amount of money by marketing processed food, all the lies began to infiltrate society. From this point on, eating healthy became a giant ball of confusion.
Perhaps one of the most influential fad diets of all time has been the high protein diet because it produces the fastest short-term weight loss of any other type of diet.
Nevertheless, consider the following 5 arm flab pitfalls of high protein diets before buying all those steaks:
1. Vanishing energy: Your body is most efficient at producing energy with a steady intake of carbs. Without them, your rate of energy production will drop by 300%. The end result will be massive brain fog and lethargy.
2. Diminished exercise capacity: Your muscles can produce a lot more ATP (energy currency) with carbohydrates. In their absence, exercise will become very painful and recovery will be virtually impossible.
3. More resistance to insulin: Carbohydrates aren’t the only macronutrient that can cause insulin resistance. Saturated fat and PROTEIN can also do the trick.
4. A loss in muscle definition: Without carbs, your arm muscles will look like deflated balloons because carbs pull water into your muscles making them look tight and compact.
5. The largest arm flab rebound: Of all the fad diets, high protein diets produce the fastest weight loss. But they also produce the largest weight regain. This was proven by a multi-million dollar Stanford University study.
High protein diets are very seductive. After all, they do produce the fastest weight loss. And nothing is more motivating that literally seeing that scale move overnight. Unfortunately, said diets come at a very steep price. Even worse, you could potentially gain everything back once you start eating carbs again. For these reasons, I do NOT recommend high protein diets for women wishing to get rid of arm flab.
