Without farmers, our nation would never have become the giant it is today. Tractors are a much beloved symbol of agriculture, and there are many celebrations throughout the United States that focus on this important machine. Here are just a few that are held throughout the year.

Each February, the National Farm Machinery Show is held in Louisville, Kentucky. Tractor and farm enthusiasts can spend hours exploring the Kentucky Exposition Center, which will be filled with farm equipment, tractors and vendors selling farm products and supplies. In addition, there is a special section of the exposition hall that includes vendors selling toys, crafts and other items for the home. The big event of the show is the tractor pull, which is the largest indoor tractor pull in the country. Free seminars also will be held during the event.

Watch the best in the business compete at the National Tractor Pulling Championships, which are held at the Wood County Fairgrounds in Bowling Green, Ohio. There are competitions in many different categories, including two-wheel drive trucks, four-wheel drive trucks, SS Diesels and Super Farm Tractors. In addition, there are campsites available for tent camping, RVs and trailers, so you can enjoy the entire three-day event.

Another popular tractor pull event is the Budweiser Dairyland Super National Pull. Held annually in Tomah, Wisconsin, this three-day show includes events in many categories. There are super semi events, super farm tractor pulls, light super stock, modified tractors and several more. Book early and you can reserve one of the 500 campsites that are located across from the big event. About 300 of the campsites include electrical hookups.

If you enjoy antique tractors, there are many different events held throughout the year. One popular annual event is the California Antique Farm Equipment Show, which is held in Tulare. Events include an antique tractor pull, an auction, displays of antique farm equipment, tractor demonstrations and plenty of family-friendly events. In addition there is an antique equipment parade, swap meets, arts and crafts area and live music.

Another fun event for antique tractor enthusiasts is the Mid-States Antique Tractor and Engine Show, held in Ashland, Nebraska. In addition to the many engines and tractors on display, guests enjoy garden tractor pulls, antique tractor pulls, live music and a variety of events geared toward children. The younger set can enjoy a tractor rodeo or take part in three-legged races or a kid-size pedal tractor pull.
