Three Love Tips For Your Relationships
Improving your relationship is not usually hard work. These three tips can enhance the quality of your love life starting today.
The First Tip: Play! Studies have shown that the more play you have with your partner, the less fighting there will be. So if you are fighting a lot, play more, and test this out for yourself. Just a few hours a week can begin to uplift your entire relationship.
So do you both make time to play together on a regular basis? Do you have a date night at least once a week?
Tip #2: Manage Conflict Smoothly. You will have conflict in any long term relationship. That’s a given. But how you manage the conflict is the key to how well your relationship will endure. Relationships where partners scream a lot, scorn each other, and/or treat each other with contempt during conflict are unhealthy, and studies have shown they often won’t last.
Since conflict is going to happen between any couple, it is worth learning how to deal with it in healthier ways. There are lots of ways to learn to minimize the damage conflict causes to your relationship. One simple method is to learn to breathe and de-escalate when things get too hot.
Tip Three is to Minimize the Mind Reading. Your mate can’t read your mind. They don’t actually just know what you want and need. Recognize this and help them out by asking for what you want. If you need some quiet time, ask for it. If you need them to just listen instead of give you their advice, ask for that as well.
By asking for what you need, you can prevent a lot of fights and sulking. And encourage your mate to ask for what they need when they seem unhappy as well. that’s being a good partner.
There are entire books that can be written about each of these three topics, so this is obviously just an introduction, but these are a great place to start to improve your love relationship today.
