The Ins And Outs Of Body Fat And Dietary Fat
The mass media has fallen in and out of love with both these types of fat many times over. And this shift in approval seems to be changing again.
The problem here is that such shifts in public approval are not based on science.
So here are the ins and outs of body fat and dietary fat:
1. Fat isn’t just under your skin, it’s in your veins: And this type of fat is the most lethal because it had a direct impact on your heart. And once your heart gives out your chances of living go down exponentially. So make sure you watch out for fat in your circulatory system.
2. Fat is also alongside your organs: Although not as lethal as fat in your arteries, fat around your organs is much worse than fat underneath your skin. You see, fat around your organs can change their size and shape and can also release harmful substances into your body.
3. Fat under your skin isn’t necessarily bad: In fact, there are many people who have a lot of skin fat, but don’t have much fat in their arteries or around their organs. Now I’m not saying you shouldn’t try to get toned, just don’t assume being thin is the end all be all.
4. Having a variety of dietary fat is best: For the best health outcomes you want to have a variety of dietary fat in your diet. Don’t just focus on olive oil, for instance. Instead, get healthy sources of fat from all the different groups.
5. Don’t overdo the omega-3 intake: Many fitness professionals recommend taking huge amounts of fish oil. The problem with this approach is that too much fish oil can damage your heart over long periods of time. This happens because the omega three acids can increase oxidation.
6. Have fat with every meal: For the slowest digestion rates, highest rates of satiety and the highest levels of hormone production, you need to have fat in every meal. Never go on a low fat diet because this approach will backfire on you.
Body fat and dietary fat have become confusing issues in our society. Yet, both of them have such a strong grip on your health!
