The island of Tenerife is the largest of Spain’s Canary Islands that are situated off the coast of North Africa. The most visited island of the group is Tenerife, with close to five million tourists landing there each year. The perfect sunny climate that is present all through the year means that the Canary Islands are always a popular destination. The Tenerife Monkey Zoo Park is also a great animal haven for kids and a good way to keep them busy for the day. For those visitors looking to get more to the heart of their destination Tenerife will definitely be able to please. This is an island of great natural beauty and hiring a car will help you get around and appreciate all there is to offer. Mount Teide is Spain’s highest peak, and this active volcano sits in Tenerife’s Parque Nacional Las Canadas del Teide. This is an area of stunning beauty to walk around. Masca Valley is also a highly recommended place to visit, either by taking one of the organised walks into the valley, or enjoying the winding drive there. As with most destinations, once you take yourself out of the tourist hub you will get to see what natural beauty there is to offer.
If you are a sports enthusiast then Tenerife will also keep you busy. The island is known for having good quality diving schools and facilities, so check them out along with other water sports on offer. If you prefer to stay on dry land then you might be happy to try out some of the super golf courses in Tenerife. For those visiting in winter months you will be delighted to play a round in glorious sunshine!
