What to do today in Monteverde?

I awoke this morning at 6am at the Friends School in Monteverde. I volunteered last night to be the night watchman. After a series of local robberies we were forced to up the security of the schoolhouse in the evenings. I had breakfast at Stellas bakery this morning, after being attacked by a dog. Both the caffeine and the adrenaline rush got me off to a perky start.

Yesterday while on the bus I met an interesting man. You know the feeling you get when it seems the universe is sending you a sign? I feel certain that he was put on my path to send me on a wild adventure. We were traveling from San Jose to the Monteverde Cloud Forest. I had gotten on the bus at the Alajuela Bus Central. The bus was filled to the rim.

A Weekend in the Cloud Forest

Its 8:20 am on a Saturday in Monteverde. The farmers market is already in full swing. I would normally be one of the first ones there to get first pick of all the organic produce available. The kids run wild there and my boy loves it. I decided to stay in this morning and drink coffee and make a little journal entry. Later, at 10am, there is a yoga class Ill probably go to, and at 11:30 some friends are getting together to play Ultimate Frisbee.
