It's been a rather fascinating journey for me to learn that many of the things I do on a conscious or comatose level is a result of experiences & perceptions that was accumulated and processed in my mind, which often operates at a sub-conscious level.
The ethics of NLP
Neuro-linguistic programming (or NLP) is considered a controversial type of psychological re-programming and self-help which has attracted much criticism. Simply speaking, NLP finds connections between the neurological processes, language and behavioural patterns which when broken down and categorised, could lead to the understanding and therefore correcting of psychological problems, as well as more commercial techniques such as sales.
Manchester Airport embraces the power of NLP to help passengers with fear of flying
As many as 40% of people are affected by fear of flying, some studies suggest, and the situation may be getting worse. The number of passengers booking a place in Manchester Airport’s executive lounge is going up, according to bosses. They attribute this to a desire to escape the crowds, borne out of anxiety regarding getting on a plane. In an effort to put passengers at ease, the airport has brought in a therapist who specialises in helping people with aviophobia (fear of flying) using neuro-linguistic programming (NLP).
Symptoms Of Autism
Autism is commonly referred to as a developmental disability because of its tendency to appear and began in the ages before a child turns three, which is a traditionally a child’s developmental stage. In addition to this, it is also called a developmental disability because it creates delays and issues in the various skills mainly acquired during the stages from infancy to adulthood. Because it begins primarily during the stage of infancy, the integral process of early detection is mainly up to a parent.
The Five Types Of Autism
There is more than one type of autism. Even though most people in society know only the umbrella terminology for the disability, it should be known that there are all types of autism, in fact that various degrees are a part of a spectrum. No one individual experiences autism in the same exact way. It is time society started acting like that. An individual is not only autistic because they have a learning disability. An individual should be looked at from a much deeper standpoint. Here’s a brief look at autism underneath the surface.
Know The Causes Of Autism
Autism is a neural developmental disorder and is characterized by impaired communication and social interaction and behavioral repetitiveness and limitation. Although many causes and reasons are proposed, it is still unknown the exact cause or reason behind autism developing in children. This is because autism is such a complex disorder. The reason scientists and researchers have come up with range from genetics to an expectant mother’s prenatal environment, from a perinatal environment to a postnatal environment. There are many theories given for why autism occurs, here are a few.
Attention Deficit Disorder
(ADD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) is a disorder that makes it difficult to restrain their impulsive responses. These responses range from spontaneous movement to spontaneous speech to attentiveness which can spontaneously wander. The previously mentioned responses are usually seen in children who are dubbed troublemakers due to their inability to sit still when it is necessary to, follow clear directions that are given to them, or censor themselves when it is not the time to say inappropriate things. More than likely, these “troublemakers” do not set out to create trouble at all and instead suffer ADD/ADHD, the inability to control their impulsive responses.
Learn The Seven Tips For You & Your Autistic Child
Autistic children can be a challenge to deal with, but it is important to realize that the child may find life challenging too. Even if this is the case, an autistic child should not be pacified on his or her way through life, instead a parent should parent their child in the way they knew how with the careful consideration and moderation to adapt to your autistic child’s needs.
Responsibility Of A Parent Having A Child With Learning Disability
When you find out your child has a learning disability, a lot of thoughts can run through your mind. What did I do wrong? What will happen to my child? Will they ever be okay in life? Is it okay to be scared about this? You did nothing wrong. Nothing will happen to your child. Yes they will be okay in life. Yes it is okay to be scared right now. But you still need to be brave. Finding out that your child has a learning disability can be potentially devastating news to hear, but it should be taken with stride.
Seek Depression Counseling
Almost every person in life today goes through some periods of blue moods and downcast feelings, most of which are attributed to normal day to day life disappointments, life’s stresses, illnesses, or a significant loss. However, if the depression symptoms like unhappiness, hopelessness, or worthlessness, and negative thoughts of inflicting harm on yourself or people you come in contact with persist for duration of over two weeks, the condition becomes a serious one.
