A Leap of Faith: The Incontinent Skydiver
I am still on the fence about giving skydiving a try. That is perhaps a poor choice of words to describe this particular indecision but it is the phrase that encapsulates my frame of mind. I have reached a point in life where it is clear to me that I need to try something radically different to reorder my universe, to shake up an existence which has been stuck in a deep rut for the past couple of years. I can see that a new perspective is in order for my mental health and literally, a bird’s eye view might be just the ticket. But there are numerous and nagging considerations I should probably take into account before making the leap. Some are emotional and some are very physical.
Panic Attacks – What Are They?
Everyone has anxious moments regardless of who you are or what you do. A little bit of anxiety is not going to hurt anyone but there are levels of anxiety that can actually make you physically ill. This is a full blown panic attack.
Anxiety and Sleeplessness
You have been tossing and turning all night. You want to get a decent night’s sleep but it has proven to be completely elusive. This is not something that has just occurred out of the blue. Your sleep disturbances have been occurring for months now. Come to think of it, you have experienced these same problems in the past for several years. What is the cause of it? If you are like many people, the root cause of your sleeplessness could be anxiety.
A Treatment for Anxiety is Meditation
Although anxiety can be present in various levels of severity, it is none the less a serious condition with which millions of people are faced with each and every day of their lives. While for some people anxiety may be little more than a nuisance, for others it can be extremely debilitating as these people are forced to live with the threat of frequent panic attacks. Irrespective of how slight or how severe your anxiety level is, it’s vital that you seek proper treatment.
Coming to Terms with GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder)
Unfortunately, there seems to be a common misconception that GAD is not really condition which needs to be taken seriously. In fact, a vast amount of people even believe that GAD is a condition which only weak minded people experience, but the fact is, this couldn’t be further from the truth. To the contrary, GAD is by no account a minor condition but rather, it’s a condition which results in serious consequences for millions upon millions of people from around the globe.
Anxiety and Insomnia
Are you desperate to get a good night’s sleep but finding it impossible? Do you find yourself tossing and turning all night and when you do drift off, you wake up soon afterwards again? Is this something you’ve been experience for a few months, or do you experience these bouts every once in a while? Perhaps you’ve been having these bouts for year already but because they tend to come and go, you’ve always just battle your way through them. Well, if any of this sounds familiar, then I’m afraid that anxiety may very well be the cause of the insomnia.
