It’s officially spring and even though the weather in your part of the country might not quite be warm and sunny, it’s definitely time to start planning out your new home improvement projects. By getting a jump start on those outside projects you’ll have more free time during the summer months to sit back and enjoy the warm weather without a lot of work.

Inspect and Clean Gutters: The gutters of your house probably took a beating through the winter months. Ice and water and all sorts of debris from late fall can do quite a number on gutters and if you haven’t replaced them in a while. You may may want to check them over for cracks or weak points. A leaky gutter could sending water against your home and that can cause wood to rot around your roof line.
Plant Grass: In general the fall and spring are the best seasons to plant grass. You can plant in the fall to help your grass grow strong roots, but the spring is an excellent time as well because you can take advantage of the mild weather and rain to really start your grass growing quickly. You usually can’t just throw grass seed on the ground and expect something to happen. Build Your Flowerbeds: If you didn’t plant bulbs in the fall then now’s the time to take advantage of all the sales on spring plants. It’s also a good time to plan out your flower beds. If you’re going make a raised flower bed then you might want to start measuring and buying materials now to take advantage of good weather and enjoy your flowers all summer long.
Springtime is a great time to get your home ready for summer. The warm weather makes it easier to spend a lot of time outside and the low prices on home improvement materials and supplies usually can’t be beat.
