Looking to buy a radio controlled car online is no easy task when so many choices are presented to you. It is so easy as when buying a real car to be swayed by the fancy sports version.
However don’t be so easily fooled. These cars are great in many ways but simply put the radio controlled crawlers or truggies that appear to be more cumbersome are way more fun.
Still not sure? Well its true…these cars or truggies if you prefer will surmount obstacles that ordinary vehicles couldn’t even begin to climb and they will do it with ease and without any chance of being damaged.
Most surfaces including rocks , beaches and even swampy terrains are no challenge for the higher specked radio controlled crawlers.
The better quality RC cars should have solid aluminium frames, twin motors for better power and manoeuvrability and of course thick surface destroying wheels that are oversized to give your model more traction control. In short…it should look like a mini monster truck.
These RC crawlers are complete brutes and at times even appear to be violent in their actions and behaviour, making them fascinating to watch and control…if you can!
The top range RC models will have oil filled shocks so as they can manage the rougher surfaces without damaging the crawlers axle. Therefore it is important to spend a little more to get the better model.
In fact anything that costs you less than $100 for a RC crawler is going to cost you more over the course of owning it as parts are likely to loosen and fall off if the radio controlled car is not built satisfactorily, and for all manner of rock crawling courses.
Dig deep and get a high spec model that has all the features found on the better crawlers out there like the Acme or HSP brands. You will not be disappointed.
No matter what model you choose and what brand you choose you have to all do one thing…and that’s test this machine to within an inch of its life. After all that’s what these radio controlled cars are built to do.
