Looking to buy a radio controlled car online is no easy task when so many choices are presented to you. It is so easy as when buying a real car to be swayed by the fancy sports version.
However don’t be so easily fooled. These cars are great in many ways but simply put the radio controlled crawlers or truggies that appear to be more cumbersome are way more fun.
Sceptical? Well don’t be…these models are serious bits of kit. They are ruthless in the sheer way the tackle any object that dare crosses their path…and if it does, well they simple go over it!
Most surfaces including rocks , beaches and even swampy terrains are no challenge for the higher specked radio controlled crawlers.
The decent models have a solid aluminium construction, amazing flexibility and a high torque steering servo and that’s just for starters. They have heavy duty high performance tyres with deep earth gripping tread that is ideal for climbing over any rocky surface.
These Radio controlled crawlers are animals in action. They tear up terrain and surfaces that normal RC cars would die on. This makes having one of these machines my primary reason over a standard RC car. They are just awesome.
The top end models should all boast suspension link rods allowing the chassis to articulate at almost 90 degrees to give better control and its for this reason alone that you should spend more than you expected when buying one as they really are worth it.
Parting with anything less than $100 on an RC crawler a waste of your money for the simple reason that once you start taking this thing off road it will encounter various surfaces that will damage it if it isn’t built well.
Dig deep and get a high spec model that has all the features found on the better crawlers out there like the Acme or HSP brands. You will not be disappointed.
Whatever your choice don’t forget that your buying a radio controlled car that climbs over rocks….so make sure you test it properly and make that model earn its name. Enjoy!
