The Five Types Of Autism

]]>

There is more than one type of autism. Even though most people in society know only the umbrella terminology for the disability, it should be known that there are all types of autism, in fact that various degrees are a part of a spectrum. No one individual experiences autism in the same exact way. It is time society started acting like that. An individual is not only autistic because they have a learning disability. An individual should be looked at from a much deeper standpoint. Here’s a brief look at autism underneath the surface.

Asperger Syndrome

Asperger Syndrome is one of the few ASDs (autistic spectrum disorders) and is diagnosed by the absence of significant socialized tendencies. These characteristics include finding difficulty in social interaction and the limited and monotonous patterns of an individual’s behavior and what happens to keep their interests. Other symptoms can include clumsiness and abnormal use of jargon. Asperger differs from other ASDs because it seeks to preserve lingual and the development of cognitive capabilities. There is no known cause for the disorder and no treatment to cure the disorder.

Kanner’s Syndrome

Kanner Syndrome, otherwise known as autism, is autism in its classic form. It is defined as a neural developmental disorder and is characterized by weakened communication and social interaction and the limitation and repetitiveness of behavior. Autism is usually diagnosed by the time the child hits the age of 3. It affects information the brain processes by changing the way nerve cells and synapses are allotted to connect and be organized. Just like Asperger Syndrome, Kanner Syndrome is one of the few ASDs.

PDD-NOS

The acronym PDD-NOS stands for Pervasive Developmental Disorder – Not Otherwise Specified and is defined as a pervasive developmental disorder and the disorder that completes the group of ASDs. With the diagnosis of PDD-NOS, an individual can qualify for some of the characteristics found in autism and Asperberger, but because they do not fit all of the criterion for the disorders, they become diagnosed with PDD-NOS. It is commonly referred to as atypical autism because although it is autism, it is very hard for it to fall in the category of autism.

Rett’s Syndrome

Rett syndrome is a developmental disorder of the neurological system that affects a major component of the central nervous system, known as “grey matter”. This is generally characterized by the outward appearance of small feet, hands, and a decrease in the rate at which an individual’s head is supposed to go. Hand movements are repetitive. Scoliosis, constipation, and the failure to grow are also common problems with Rett. It is very rare, but when it does happen, it usually only affects girls.

Childhood Disintegrative Disorder

Similar to Rett Syndrome, Childhood Disintegrative Disorder is also rare. Children who have it typically appear to be normal at birth, growth occurs when it is supposed to occur, no signs of anything potentially problematic. However, at age two or four, things take a shift. Instead of progressing, the child seems to regress. They will have no desire to interact with kids and have no interest in playing. Talking will either end completely or decrease in skill from what it previously had been.

Know The Causes Of Autism

]]>

Autism is a neural developmental disorder and is characterized by impaired communication and social interaction and behavioral repetitiveness and limitation. Although many causes and reasons are proposed, it is still unknown the exact cause or reason behind autism developing in children. This is because autism is such a complex disorder. The reason scientists and researchers have come up with range from genetics to an expectant mother’s prenatal environment, from a perinatal environment to a postnatal environment. There are many theories given for why autism occurs, here are a few.

Genetics: Genes are said to appear in autism. Some of the genes are believed to make a child more likely to develop the disorder, some of the genes affect the brain directly, its development as well as the way its cells communicate. Every potential problem found in genes could be held accountable for a small amount of autism cases. However, some of the genetic problems may be inherited and others seem to happen impulsively.

Environment: Health problems are said to attribute to genetic as well as environmental issues. Due to this statement, some believe this to be a factor in terms of autism too. Researchers studying autism are now exploring health problems like viral infections and environmental problems like air pollutants to examine if either can play a role in causing autism.

Vaccine: For a long while, vaccines were held as the biggest and most likely contributor of autism in people. Many believed that there was a link between certain vaccines required for children to take at young ages and autism. However, there has not been a study that can accurately and realistically show that there is any evidence of any sort of connection between autism and childhood vaccines. Childhood vaccinations should not be avoided because without them, children are put in extreme harm of catching diseases as serious as measles, pertussis, and/or mumps.

A Child’s Prenatal Environment: Several prenatal risk factors can be linked to creating a risk of autism for a child. These risk factors include parental age, bleeding, diabetes, and using psychiatric drugs during pregnancy. Parental age can be a risk because of the risk of complications during pregnancy, autoimmunity in the mother, imprinted genes, etc. Infection through the mother is held as one of the main non-genetic causes of autism. If a mother is exposed to rubella during her pregnancy, her immune response is activated and increases the unborn child’s risk of autism.

Explained above are just a few of the theories currently written about the causes of autism, but as previously stated, autism has no known cause. There is only knowledge of potential causes and patterns of occurrences that researchers have studied that point in the direction of these theories. There is still not a lot known about autism. The disorder itself is really complex. But it is important to be knowledgeable about worldly matters, especially common ones like this.

Attention Deficit Disorder

]]>

(ADD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) is a disorder that makes it difficult to restrain their impulsive responses. These responses range from spontaneous movement to spontaneous speech to attentiveness which can spontaneously wander. The previously mentioned responses are usually seen in children who are dubbed troublemakers due to their inability to sit still when it is necessary to, follow clear directions that are given to them, or censor themselves when it is not the time to say inappropriate things. More than likely, these “troublemakers” do not set out to create trouble at all and instead suffer ADD/ADHD, the inability to control their impulsive responses.

The problem with diagnosing this particular disorder is that it is often difficult to differentiate where the line between normal child behavior and abnormal ADD/ADHD behavior begins. Sometimes, a child may just be hyper or may just be unwilling to listen to what a parent tells him or her, which would indicate normal behavior. However, if a child presents hyperactive, inappropriate behavior no matter what the day, hour, or social setting it seems to be, this can be a call to raise attention.

ADD/ADHD can be very easy to overcome once the precise issues the child is struggling with are realized. Because once that issue is targeted, creative ways of how to work around it can be discovered. Children who have ADD can bounce off walls, they can be quiet and stare off into space for hours on end, they can be overly focused on one thing and find it impossible to take their attention from that and onto another. People who have ADD cannot be placed into one category because everyone experiences it in a different way, but they all stem from the characteristics of hyperactivity, inattention, and impulsiveness. The signs and symptoms affiliated with ADD are determined by which characteristic is the most dominate within the child’s behavior.

Signs and symptoms of inattention include making careless mistakes, being distracted easily, having trouble maintaining focus, having trouble remembering things, staying organized, following instructions, and completing projects. Signs and symptoms of hyperactivity include fidgeting and squirming for excessive periods of time, having the impulsive need to leave his/her seat when sitting is what is required of them, constantly moving, frequently running, excessive talking, and experiencing difficulty with playing quietly. Symptoms and signs of impulsiveness include the constant interrupting of others, angry shouts and temper tantrums due to the inability to control their emotions, finding it difficult to wait his/her turn, and blurting things out even when it is not their turn to speak.

Although diagnosis of ADD/ADHD commonly resulted in the prescription of Ritalin, there are ways to treat children with ADD/ADHD without depending on drugs. Suggested ways include pairing the child with a therapist, providing the child with a better, proper diet and exercise which can work to get rid of some of the child’s energy, and freeing their home space of some of its distractions. The child’s school should also be notified and met with in order to strategically plan a schedule appropriate and beneficial to the child’s learning needs. Behavioral therapy is also advised as well as collective support.

How NLP Could Help You To Shed Those Pounds

]]>

NLP, or Neuro Linguistic Programming, is a relatively new science that works to improve human communication and personal control. It uses knowledge of human thought patterns, behaviours and beliefs to help any individual understand and control their own. It can help you overcome phobias, insecurities and addictions. It can also help you achieve the weight loss you desire.

Trying to lose weight? Dieting may seem the clear solution. However, when you change the food in your diet you are not able to change the levels of hunger you experience or the urge to eat. For this reason diets usually fail and dieting can be extremely frustrating. NLP can help to remove the attraction or fascination you have with food. By using NLP you can ensure that food no longer has such attraction and this will lead to weight loss naturally.

Self-fulfilling prophecies are an important part of NLP practice. NLP developers understand that any external communication or internal thoughts reflect your interpretation of the world and any struggles that you may experience within it. Each of your thoughts consists of indicating words that will show this and NLP acts to change these words and promote more positive behaviours and thoughts by an individual.

When being educated in NLP you will also learn that there are some common beliefs (regarding human nature) that will instantly allow you a sense of empowerment. These include the belief that; every human action is conducted with a positive intention.

Understanding positive intentions can be extremely useful when you are trying to lose weight. You should understand that by eating something you do not need or is bad for you, you are actually trying to fulfil a positive intention. When you know this you can discover what this positive intention is… is it to make you feel better? If so you can then work to change this behaviour with something else that will have the same result, no matter whether you live in London, Birmingham or New York this technique is proven to work.Thuis

Learn The Seven Tips For You & Your Autistic Child

]]>

Autistic children can be a challenge to deal with, but it is important to realize that the child may find life challenging too. Even if this is the case, an autistic child should not be pacified on his or her way through life, instead a parent should parent their child in the way they knew how with the careful consideration and moderation to adapt to your autistic child’s needs.

Yes, dealing with an autistic child can be different than dealing with an average 4-year-old but it is important to remember that that’s just it. It’s different. Not weird, not strange, not frustrating. Just different. If you approach the hard task with a sunny disposition, it will not feel so challenging. Treat your autistic child just like you would any other 4-year-old. They cannot be held their entire lives.

1. Get to know who your child is. Realize what sets him or her off, what frustrates them to the point that they have to throw a temper tantrum, the things they enjoy doing, the things that make them laugh. Autistic children do not do bad things on purpose. They respond to the world and to people a little bit differently than others. Get to know what those points are and remember them so that whenever a situation arises, you are prepared for it and ready to right whatever is wrong.

2. What you expect from a child who is not autistic is going to differ greatly from a child who is autistic. That should be realized and remembered. While Billy and Sam can be expected to clean their rooms when they’re told within less than an hour, it should be realized that as an autistic child it may be harder to focus on the task at hand for a lengthy amount of time, non-stop, within an expected amount of time. While they should still have the same responsibility of cleaning their room, make the goal smaller in the beginning, like making their bed and then move onto the bigger picture.

3. Safety is extremely important because autistic children are adventurous and spontaneous in their movements. Little things can interest them and they must pursue it. Extra safety precautions should be taken to avoid potential harm to your child and your home.

4. As stated in number one, you should get to know your child. This can directly relate to the removal of sensory input. Certain things can annoy autistic children, set them off, and send them into tantrums. The light may be too bright; the TV too loud, the sound of ambulance sirens may scare them. If the object cannot be removed or avoided, it is best to figure out ways to stop the situation while it’s happening. Carry shades with you or ear plugs in case brightness or loud sounds upset them.

5. Number one may also help with number five. You can discover creative ways to incorporate things your child likes into ways that will follow tip number three. If your child is a climber on inappropriate things, note this and take him or her rock climbing on a wall. Or crashing into a couch could be greatly accepted on a moon bounce. Although this tip could not work in all circumstances, thinking about it and incorporating it later can be very fun for your child.

6. Cheering on your child’s successes is important. Encouragement is important. Whenever your child does something right, they should be given some sort of praise. That praise will become familiar and something the child may try to be met with everyday.

7. Be consistent. With everything that you do you will need to be consistent. Especially in terms of discipline. If you decide to pop your child on the hand when he does something wrong and put him in time out when he does something worse, make sure to do it every time. In cases, especially where there are siblings involved, that consistency is definitely important because he or she can compare how you treat him or her to how you treat them.

Responsibility Of A Parent Having A Child With Learning Disability

]]>

When you find out your child has a learning disability, a lot of thoughts can run through your mind. What did I do wrong? What will happen to my child? Will they ever be okay in life? Is it okay to be scared about this? You did nothing wrong. Nothing will happen to your child. Yes they will be okay in life. Yes it is okay to be scared right now. But you still need to be brave. Finding out that your child has a learning disability can be potentially devastating news to hear, but it should be taken with stride.

Life for your child may not be the way you planned it, but life for your child can still be a good one. Your role as a parent is to be that support system for your child. Here are some tips on how to go about this role:

1. As stated above, you should be your child’s support system. This means encouraging them, keeping their emotional needs and esteem level at an all time high when homework and life at school can seem really discouraging to them. While you may have your feelings of intimidation on the subject of disability, it is important to realize your child and how they’re feeling is more important.

2. Learn all that you can about learning disabilities and different tools you can potentially use to make learning for your child easier, whether it is through different sessions with therapists, or lessons at schools with teachers that specialize in teaching children with learning disabilities. Just because your child learns differently does not mean he or she is incapable of learning.

3. Your child looks up to you. Your child follows your lead, so it is important that you keep a steady head and optimistic outlook on the different challenges and activities your child must do in order to keep up and learn in the way that he or she can learn in. If your outlook on things is dim, their outlook will be the same. It is important to remember that you are not only their support system, but also their inspiration to go through the day to day routine.

4. Talk to parents who are in a similar situation as you. Sometimes it helps when you have support from someone who is going through what you’re going through.

5. Don’t allow your child to be lazy. A learning disability does not affect a child’s ability to fend for him or herself. If the other kids in your household do chores, allow your child with a learning disability to have household chores too. Your child should feel like an equal and not be given special treatment just because he or she learns differently.

6. Praise, praise, praise. This is so crucial because when a child with a learning disability does not comprehend something and that is obvious, it can be a little frustrating. Whenever they do something well, make sure it is known. It does wonders for self-esteem.

7. Don’t wear yourself out. Although adjusting and adapting to parenting a child with a learning disability can be an arduous task, it should not be something you spend 24/7 concentrated on or consumed with. Give yourself a break. It’s a process and takes time to get the hang of things. Make sure you take care of your child, but also take care of you.

A lack in self-confidence can be a problem that everyone can relate to. A sudden decrease in confidence and self esteem can occur throughout your career or in the daily life as a parent or guardian. If you have suffered a dip in self-esteem, then there are many others in your situation. The most popular athletes, and celebrities can also experience the same problems. NLP is a common tool used by them to overcome these.

Neuro Linguistic Programming, more commonly known as NLP, is a practice that studies human communication and the control of it. It examines human thought patterns, behaviours and beliefs to assist in understanding how an individual can control them.

Celebrities who have used NLP for their own development include: Heston Blumenthal, Lily Allen, Gerri Halliwell, Oprah Winfrey, Tony Robbins, Sophie Dahl, and Jimmy Carr.

The reasons for low confidence levels can be the same regardless of your personal situation. This means it is probable you share similar negative emotions and self-esteem related thoughts to many celebrities. The causes for a dip in self-esteem can include; social phobias, feelings of guilt or inadequacy, or letting fear of failure of the unknown become an obstacle in your life. To increase your self-confidence NLP particularly encourages the use of self-awareness. This means understanding your response to every situation and listening to your unconscious thoughts and feelings. One popular NLP idea is that you should be able to use the positive feelings of a previous success, in the future development of your self-esteem.

NLP is a complex practice that has so much to offer for anyone with confidence problems. It requires some time to fully utilise but with the help of an NLP practitioner it can be easy to understand and you will see benefits fast. A great thing about NLP is that unlike many types of therapy it does not require you to contemplate painful past experiences but concentrate more on the present and the future to help you develop.

If you struggle with confidence yourself then undertaking NLP training courses could help you, and if you are in the midlands and want to do NLP courses Belfast venues host many

Stage Hypnosis–Hypnosis Secrets That Are Cheap

]]>

The so called hypnosis secrets of stage hypnosis are a joke. The power of stage hypnosis is the most exaggerated power of any type of hypnosis ever made-up. Stage hypnosis does not have any hypnosis secrets that can be used to influence people.

When a stage hypnotist does a stage hypnosis show, one of the first things the stage hypnotist will do is ask for volunteers to come on stage. Now, become aware of how the stage hypnotist is asking for volunteers. If there were so many mysterious powers at work in stage hypnosis, then for what reason is there a necessity for volunteers? Real covert hypnosis secrets do not need volunteers or the cooperation of other people, so this is the first warning sign that stage hypnosis is a joke.

The next indication that stage hypnosis is fake is that during a stage show, a stage hypnotist continues to get rid of volunteers who had come up on stage to be hypnotized. The stage hypnotist makes many of the volunteers to go back to their seats, telling them to enjoy the show. The question we must ask ourselves is why does the stage hypnotist do this? For what reason does the stage hypnotist tell his own volunteers to return to the audience?

The reason why people are banned is because the stage hypnotist closely watches his volunteers to determine if they are doing everything he says in the precise way he wants the volunteers to do it. If a volunteer does not do exactly as the stage hypnotist says, the stage hypnotist disqualifies the volunteer because the volunteer is not obeying the commands of the stage hypnotist. This is confirmation that stage hypnosis is a joke because if the stage hypnotist actually had the power to hypnotize people and to get them to follow his orders, then why do people need to be disqualified and returned to the audience?

As the stage hypnosis show continues, you will notice more volunteers being disqualified. Towards the end of the stage hypnosis show, there are usually only a few volunteers left. These are the volunteers who end up clucking like chickens and doing embarrassing things so that the stage hypnosis looks to have some mysterious powers at work. However, what these volunteers are doing is merely continuing to volunteer to comply with the instructions of the stage hypnotist. The stage hypnotist will even go so far as to tell the people that they will not recall anything that they did on stage, and when the people seem to come out of trance, they do as the stage hypnotist told them and act as though they cannot remember anything that had taken place.

A stage hypnotist is a performer and not a real hypnotist. All he does is gather a bunch of volunteers who want to be hypnotized and then he weeds out the volunteers who will not voluntarily do everything the stage hypnotist tells them to do. So, people are not actually hypnotized during a stage hypnosis show, they are volunteering to act as though that they were hypnotized.

There is little distinction between an actor and a volunteer at a stage hypnosis show. This means stage hypnosis is a type of amusement and not a type of influence.

Stunning hypnosis secrets reveal persuasion theory that is way more effective in the persuasion process than stage hypnosis could ever be. Discover these powerful mind control techniques for yourself by downloading your free hypnosis CD!

Seek Depression Counseling

]]>

Almost every person in life today goes through some periods of blue moods and downcast feelings, most of which are attributed to normal day to day life disappointments, life’s stresses, illnesses, or a significant loss. However, if the depression symptoms like unhappiness, hopelessness, or worthlessness, and negative thoughts of inflicting harm on yourself or people you come in contact with persist for duration of over two weeks, the condition becomes a serious one.

If you suspect that you might be suffering from depression, it is advisable to seek medical advice immediately from a qualified doctor. A doctor is in a good position to diagnose depression and give you the right treatment as per your level of depression. Even though depression is a treatable condition, it shouldn’t mean that the problem has to be taken any lightly as immediate treatment can prevent serious life-threatening conditions. This is because when depressive condition remains untreated for long, it can interfere with day-to-day activities, in addition to being fatal.

There are several ways of treating depression, such as the use of anti-depressants, through therapy and counseling, maintaining a healthy eating habit, and regular exercise. Anti-depressants are mostly the first choice when it comes to treating depression but it shouldn’t be enough if you want to accelerate your recovery from depression. It has to be coupled with counseling, healthy eating habits, and of course regular working out.

Patients who undergo depression and find it hard to get through on their own from whatever type of depression mostly find success in depression counseling. Note however that just as there are different types of depression, the counseling will vary as per the category of depression, and level of depression, someone is in. The worst thing that could ever happen if you are suffering from depression and depression related symptoms is to branded mentally ill without having to exhaust all possible causes and triggers of the condition first.

An incorrect diagnosis can result to severe mood swings and a lot of pain for the rest of an individual’s life and may make them function abnormally no matter how well they become after therapy and counseling. This is why depression counseling is very much recommended in depressed patients at the onset of depression. Important to note is that some individuals experience temporary inception of depressive symptoms due to physical related reasons, hence such people may not really need depression counseling.

For instance, extreme mood swings and moods that don’t get better even when the patient is in a favorable atmosphere, or some bouts of sadness and unhappiness that cannot be pointed out to a particular life situation, or ineffective psychological depression counseling could all be pointers of a depressive condition resulting from a physical imbalance.

Many people suffering from depression need help but most of them assume or get tired, or even care less to try and find help in depression counseling or seeking medical assistance. However, due to the severity of the condition, and its prevalence, many people have started responding to calls of seeking immediate help immediately they note any signs of depression. With the support and encouragement of loved ones, hesitant depressive patients have a better chance of recovering and leading fruitful lives.

You can control depression today… learn how to control it by using NLP practitioner tools…. NLP can change your life… so start today!
