Led Strips Replacing The Traditional Light Bulb
LED strips have replaced the common emergency signaling systems the world over. They have also found their way into the public information display system because of their utility when it comes to installation, changing and maintenance. LEDs are here to stay.
LED is a short form for ‘Light Emitting Diode’. These are tiny semi-conducting electronic devices that allow electricity to move in one direction only and in the event of doing so they emit a bright light. LEDs can be made to emit different colored light depending on the type of LED being used. The most common colors of LED strips is Red, Green, White and Blue though the color can be customized easily.
However, it was not long before manufacturers of emergency signaling systems realized their true value and started manufacturing LEDs for emergency lighting and emergency vehicle use.
LEDs can be assembled on strips in a matrix fashion. Then electronic circuitry drives an electric current through selected LEDs thus lighting them up. In this way the Matrix of LEDs can be made to glow forming different patterns like pictures, letters and figures.
LEDs are very inexpensive to manufacture and do not require much electric power to operate. They are very tough lighting devices and so they almost never fail. LEDs can be placed in the form of a matrix on strips and connected to electronic circuits that are capable of lighting each individual LED. This makes it possible to display any sort of figure, numbers and letters on the display.
This makes LED strips very easy to use and install making them a common sight in shopping malls, airports and public places where information needs to be changed constantly. With LED strips and displays this change can be done with the click of a few computer buttons.
LED is an abbreviation for ‘Light Emitting Diode’. These are tiny electronic components manufactured from semi-conducting material such as silicon. More info on LED strips specifically LED MR16 .
