Looking For A Job? Have A Great Resume.
The job seeker world is tough right now, in fact it’s always tough if you want a great job. So it’s important to know exactly how to write a great resume. That’s where landing a great job starts.
There’s hundreds or even thousands of job applications for every single job sitting on desks around the country. You’re seriously competing and your resume that sets out your job history and qualifications is what gets you the interview. If your resume doesn’t cut it then it will end up in the trash with hundreds of others.
Your resume tells that important person making the decisions about your skills, qualifications and job history. Will your resume cut it so that you get the interview, or will yours go in the trash in favor of someone else with a better resume and letter?
If your resume isn’t good enough you won’t get in front of anyone to impress them with the reasons why you’re the person for the job.
So when you sit down to start writing do you know how to do these all important things?
1. How to create a headline that grabs attention? Did you even know the headline was important?
2. How to best demonstrate the good parts of your job history, and minimize the parts that aren’t complementary?
3. Do you understand what an objectives statement is and how important it is?
4. How you should present your qualifications?
5. Know what a reference sheet is?
6. How to write the cover letter.
Are you already confused and don’t know where to start? Don’t understand what the steps are in the resume writing process? Don’t worry.
There are certain principles that ought to be followed when crafting a personal summary and job application. A formula that, if you follow it exactly dramatically improves your chances of that all important person putting your application on the “interviews” pile rather than the “trash” pile.
Follow the right formula and you’re in front of the pack. If you don’t you’re with the pack, in the trash.
So remember, having a great, eye catching resume and cover letter is the secret to job application success. Learn the correct principles, apply them religiously when writing, and you’re job application should be sitting right there on top of the pile. It all starts with your resume.
It’s so important in fact that I’ve put a book on my website telling you the whole process. If you’re looking for a great job you need to read it.
