We all know that under sink water filters are very famous but as compared to the water filters that are attached to taps, the installation work required for under counter water filters is somewhat more. The cold water tap and main water tap have to be connected to the under counter water filter through a feed line.

The time required for installing an under counter water filter system is one hour. The installation can be carried out by a homeowner or you may hire a plumber for this purpose. One big advantage of using an under counter water filter system is that it saves counter space.
Periodically, the cartridge of an under counter water filter has to be replaced, just like other systems for the filtration of water. It is rather easy to replace the cartridge. A simple set of tasks have to be performed, once your filter has been installed.
You need to find out the difference between hot and cold water taps at the time of installation. This can be carried out by keeping the tabs running for few minutes and then touching them. You need to identify the cold water tap for your installation.
When you become assured that there is no corrosion or obstruction in pipe then you need to install one section of pipe with the saddle valve clamping device. The saddle valve is simply a small valve having tubing attached to it.
Then re-assembled housing of the filter has to be mounted on to the bracket after installation of the cartridge. The cartridge may simply have to be placed appropriately or to be screwed in. The cartridge has to be installed on to the housing of the filter.
At last, install the drinking water tap or faucet for the under counter water filter. Drill a hole in the sink for this and then put the tap and its tubing on right place. You need to attach the red tube in the bucket with filter housing’s input side. Once you are done, you can turn the saddle valve’s T-bar in anti-clockwise direction and then water will start flowing to the tap through the filter housing where it flows from the red tube.
