The majority of all the members in my family are short. And from my experience most people don’t like being short or at the very least wish they were a little bit taller. You must exercises to get the most out of your height. This is especially important during your puberty years. Strenuous exercise releases growth hormones that stimulate the cartilage growth plate at the end of your bones. Once these growth plates stop growing they will fuse into bone and never grow again. Proper exercise will strengthen you mid section and help promote proper posture. This in its self will make you taller. It will also keep your bones health to prevent shrinkage, which can actually make yourself shorter.
Make sure that you avoid scams reporting that you will be able to stretch or lengthen you bones after you went through puberty. This is impossible with the exception of surgery. To understand why you must first understand how your bones grow.
Did you know that when you were a baby you had 100 more bones than you do now as a grown up? A lot of these bones are made up of cartilage and fuse together with other bones to form full, solid adult bone. By the time we reach puberty we do have adult bones. But we still have the cartilage growth plates at the end of the bones. This will typically grow for men to the age of 21. They will continue to grow in women to age’. Remember; once they stop growing they will never grow again.
You need to make sure that you are still exercising after you are through puberty. As I said before posture imbalance can cause you to lose inches. But another great benefit is that it will actually make you look taller. Lean people give the appearance of being taller. We also want to make sure that our bones stay strong and healthy.
The other major component to take into account is your diet. Eating right is important for making the most out of your height. One of the key nutrients that you need is calcium. If you do not have enough calcium the body tries to use its own supply from bones to make up for the lack of it in your diet. This will cause weak bones over time. This will make you more susceptible to injuries, especially broken bones. Make sure that you eat other foods that contain high amounts of protein and amino acids. This will ensure maximum results.
