Before writing your job objective on your resume list your contact information. Put at the top of your resume your name, address, your cell number and your home number; your email address and fax number if you have one.

Next comes your work experience or education background. If you are out of school recently you will want to start with your educational information. If you have been in the work place many years you will want to start with your work history. When writing your resume it is all right to use sentence fragments. But avoid run on sentences. And always use proper punctuation.
Keep your resume to one page. Do whatever you have to do with formatting and font size to keep it down to one page. Sometimes in very rare situations some people need a resume that is more than one page. But that is for people with extensive backgrounds where employers expect to read detailed work or educational backgrounds. In almost all cases resumes should be one page however.
Education and work experience is great but when it comes down to it an employer will want to know what you can actually do. Computer skills, kitchen remodeling skills, cooking skills will catch the interviewer’s eye. Create your resume as a presentation piece. You will be referring to it when you are on your interview.
