You can learn how to perform hypnosis on others as well as yourself. It does not take to long to learn how to become a hypnotist, though if you are looking for a career in hypnosis you will need to go through some professional training. You also will need training if you are looking to use hypnosis as therapy as you do not want to cause any further trauma. It can take as little as a few weeks in order for you to be ready to hypnotize someone else.
There are two types of methods you can use to perform hypnosis, conscious hypnosis or covert hypnosis. When performing conscious hypnosis the individual is completely aware that you are trying to hypnotize them. You talk to them to get them to relax and into a meditative state. Once they are relaxed you can use your voice to influence them.
Not everyone can be hypnotized as some individuals have such strong personalities that they cannot be influenced or be hypnotized. Also when performing conscious hypnosis the individual knows what you are doing and may try to resist. There are ways you can learn to hypnotize a difficult individual but it doesn’t work on everyone.
Covert hypnosis is much more powerful but much more difficult to do. In this you use conversation and the modulation of your voice to hypnotize an individual. They do not now that they are being hypnotized so you can influence them in many ways. In order to use covert hypnosis you need to be friendly to enter in a conversation with an individual. You then use embedded commands, which provide great results.
It is also possible to hypnotize yourself and this is much like conscious hypnosis. You bring yourself into a relaxed state. The most popular way to perform self-hypnosis is by walking down a staircase in your mind and when you open the door you are in an entirely different place. Then when you are ready you walk back up the stairs to reality.
