How Many Calories Should I Take In To Maintain Or To Shed Weight?

When you hear about weight loss your intellect can’t help itself but to consider losing calories so as to lose weight / fat. But do you know that losing too many calories too fast can basically make you gain weight? Like a large amount of it?

Our body has this natural defense / survival mechanism that reacts when something the body needs all of a sudden “disappears”, that is the reason why you see folk surviving 4-5 days without food in the middle of a jungle or something. When you lose too many calories or if you lose them to fast, the body’s natural survival mechanism kicks in and starts to replace the missing calories by consuming other proteins and muscle tissue, so why you see people that go on diets getting fatter rather than slimmer. Because you aren’t consuming lots of your body’s fat, you lose pounds but you lose it because your muscles get “smaller”.

Then when you will start eating again, due to the calorie hole in your body you may put on weight 3x as faster then you would continually do. I am hoping all this makes perfect sense to you, because its time to forget about pill popping weight reduction programs and start losing or working on your weight in a healthy and natural way.

A pound of fat is 3.500 calories, so if you’d like to lose 1 pound of fat you want to lose 3.500 but you have to do it in a controlled and healthy way, without rushing things and without eating burgers all day 24×7 or stakes whenever you go out to eat.

If you want to maintain your weight just make sure you don’t go overboard with calories, if you would like to lose some weight make sure you lose them in a healthy way so you don’t put your body trough a large amount of stress.
