Get Past A Horrible Week At The Workplace
For the majority of us, going to work is a chore and it’s not something we look forward to, especially after a relaxing weekend. We don’t have a choice and money is a necessity in today’s world. Perhaps spending 70% of your life in a confined work environment might be bliss to some, but by and large, we do certainly wish we were somewhere else – like the Polynesian islands.
There are several things you can do however to make your tiny office space a lot more appealing, and a better environment in which to work. If you clean up the clutter on your desk, and tailor your space to suit you, it can make a world of difference and also increase your productivity.
Once you’ve done that, start making it uniquely you. Since spending most of your day seated at your desk is inevitable, try making it more personal and more like your own study at home. You’ll be amazed at the change of perspective you’ll experience once you do this.
Some individuals find comfort in having photographs of their loved ones placed on their desks. It just helps to keep them motivated and to remind them why they need to keep pushing on. You can try purchasing some beautiful picture frames to go with the photos of your loved ones. Pick frames that are fun looking, and also brightly colored. These make a big difference. You can also rotate the photographs every week or so in order to give you a fresh perspective on things.
Another thing you can do is to choose some really beautiful or inspirational screensavers for your computer. Places you have always wanted to go is one such example. Tropical sunsets or sandy white beaches provide a welcome change of view as well. Put a set of earphones on with some waves sounds and you’d be in tranquility – just don’t fall asleep on the job though!
Use these as pieces of inspiration. They also help to motivate you even during the darkest of days.
