The Cabbage Soup Diet

This diet uses green cabbage as pretty much the only ingredient. You eat this over a period of seven days.

You can lose nearly ten pounds in around a week. But the major problem with this diet is that much of the weight that comes off is probably water. We know this because most people put the weight straight back on.

All in all, this diet is OK to use and easy enough to follow and can be sustained for a week quite safely. Any longer than that and you risk damaging your body.

Low GI Diet

Every type of food has a glycemic index. With this diet you eat low GI foods. This means they deliver their energy more slowly.

Actually the low GI diet works fairly well. By eliminating white bread, white sugar and anything that is refined, it is much easier to stop yourself from getting hungry.

In conclusion I like the rationale behind this diet but there is a disadvantage. The weight loss that you get will not be as fast as other diets can give you.

My Diet Plan

I lost 44 lbs in 4 months. I achieved it in a different way to most other diet plans.

First, I listened to my hunger. I only eat when I am hungry (sometimes you think you are but you are not). I also stop eating when I am no longer hungry. I never feel “full” anymore.

Secondly, I now eat better than before. I get a good breakfast every morning consisting of low GI foods and fruit. I’m no health freak though and I can still eat junk food when I feel like it.
