Essential Oils Work Great In First Aid Kits

Essential oils can be really handy in case of an emergency. It is always a good idea to include some oils in your first aid kit. You never know when they will come in handy.

Oils have great healing properties. They are perfect for a first aid kit. They are nice because of their usefulness and how well they work alongside traditional medicine.

Decide what essential oils you want in your kit. There are a lot of options, so find ones that you know you will use a lot. Limit the number in your kit however to around 6 or 7.

Essential oils need to be handled with care. Be sure to store them where they won’t be affected by heat or light. Oils can be volatile, so it is important to find a good storage place.

When you are choosing your oils know how they are used. If they need to be mixed before they can be applied find a good base or carrier oil to go along with it. A good carrier oil is sweet almond oil.

Don’t forget to include other first aid kit materials. Include normal things, like gauze, tape, scissors, tweezers, etc. You should also remember to include a way to apply the various oils you choose.

Place a piece of paper in the kit with instructions on how to use the essential oils. When an emergency happens you need to have clear instructions so you don’t forget how they are used. It is always good to have instructions available for people who aren’t familiar with the oils as well.

Be sure to never leave the essential oils where children can reach it. They are never meant to be swallowed. Be sure to have child-proof caps on all medicines in the first aid kit to prevent overdoses or poisoning.
