Essential Oil First Aid Kit

Essential oils can be really handy in case of an emergency. It is always a good idea to include some oils in your first aid kit. You never know when they will come in handy.

Oils are good because of their usefulness. When used the right way, they can work as well, if not better, than traditional medicine. They have wonderful healing properties and are great for first aid kits.

Decide what essential oils you want in your kit. There are a lot of options, so find ones that you know you will use a lot. Limit the number in your kit however to around 6 or 7.

Essential oils need to be handled with care. Be sure to store them where they won’t be affected by heat or light. Oils can be volatile, so it is important to find a good storage place.

When you choose the oils you want to use, be sure to know how they are used. Do some research ahead of time. Some oils need to be mixed before they are applied, so find a good carrier oil, like sweet almond oil, to go along with it in the first aid kit.

The first aid kit should also include normal things found in a kit. Add gauze, tape, scissors, tweezers, band-aids, etc. Also include a way to apply the various oils.

Place a piece of paper in the kit with instructions on how to use the essential oils. When an emergency happens you need to have clear instructions so you don’t forget how they are used. It is always good to have instructions available for people who aren’t familiar with the oils as well.

When you have your first aid kit, be sure to store it somewhere safe. Never leave it where children can easily reach it. Essential oils are never meant to be used by children since they should never be swallowed. Have child-proof lids and store them high out of the way of children so they don’t get in to trouble.
