Do you drink a lot? Stop it! Heavy drinking has been linked to diabetes especially in older men. Heavy, long term driking has been shown to cause high blood pressure and diabetes. You can drink a glass of wine a couple times a week without worry though. Drinking a few hours every night can be very harmful though. You should seek treatment if you have a problem with drinking.
Do you excercise or move around? Recently scientists have discovered that leading a sedentary lifestyle can cause a person to develop diabetes. Do you know what that means? Get up and move around is what that means! Thirty minutes a dayof excercise is advised. The excercise does not need to be intense. Even just an easy walk around the block at night can be enough to stave off diabetes. This is one of the diabetes causes that is the easiest to control. So, is there a reason you’re still sitting there? Don’t just sit there, go for a walk!
What you eat is a major factor in whether you will develop diabetes. A diet that is rich in fatty, salty and sugary foods is far more likely to cause diabetes than one that is filled with nutritious, healthy and natural foods. One particularly strong aggressor of diabetes is soda. Simply cutting out soda will significantly decreasing the likelihood of you developing diabetes. Some sources speculate that this one change will reduce your risk by one third. Other simple dietary changes include eating more fruits nad veggies and less potato chips and candy. Not only will your body thank you but you won’t miss the junk after awhile.

This is one of a variety of reasons your medical professional will suggest you stop eating fatty foods. Fatty food are not a wise choice, no matter how you look at it. It can augment weight gain, high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels and now we have the knowledge it can also make diabetes occur. Snacking every once in awhile won’t cause the disease. Consuming poor quality meals frequently, though, could be the biggest determine factor between being healthy and becoming a diabetic.
Make sure you try to stay as healthy as you possibly can and, hopefully, you will be just fine and have nothing to worry about.
