Stuff We Are Taught

August 30, 2010 by

If you have surfed the internet for any respectable amount of time, you may have noticed there is an overwhelming amount of information out there on any given subject.

When digging into almost any specific subject you will find many “authorities” readily supplying evidence to back their views of it, and you will also nearly always find just as many “experts” dishing out evidence to the contrary.

When the subject you are trying to learn more about is something that really matters to you, how do you know what is really true and what is a total load of crap?

Just one possible example:

The light bulb was independently invented by Joseph Swan, Thomas Edison, and more than a few people will say that the Bagdad battery and drawings in the pyramids point the first origins of the light bulb being none less than the ancient Egyptian

Closely examining some of our historical facts raises nothing more than more questions and leaves us little other options than to just sigh and spew out the most widely accepted “facts” as if they were the truth or at least possibilities.

What of stuff we care about?

There are a lot of “educators” out there teaching things that really have no truth to them; some which just stem from long forgotten “propaganda” meant to rally people under a real or metaphoric flag.

This matters, because these things can be like ripples in a pond caused by a thrown stone each reaction affecting us in ways we are not even aware of, building fundamental belief systems of our self expectations of whom we are and causing self stereo typing.

You can like what you know but it is more important that you put faith in yourself than to allow self confusion from all the widely available hocus pocus, this is true and that’s not teachings that you have very little to gain from.

Now you might not have all the answers to everything, but you with some mindfulness and use of deep meditation you can actually get answers from yourself.

With meditation you can directly ask yourself how you can improve any aspect of your life and after a while a meaningful and useful answer will surface.

The responses that will come to you from within will gain clarity over time, and you will really be using more of your mind by accessing your subconscious by questioning it with expectation.
