Short people naturally aspire that they are tall. In an attempt to taller, individuals resort to height exercises with the hopes of lengthening their bones. Unfortunately, this is not true. But luckily, there are other natural manners to increase the height.

Many height exercises claim that by lengthening the spine and stretching your limbs, your bones will actually grow longer. In order to understand why these methods don’t work, it’s good to know how the body grows.

At a very young age, your bones is consist of that flexible substance known as cartilage. And as you become an adult, the cartilage melds and solidify to become adult bones. Growth plates located at the end of the long bones caused growth spurts in children.

Hence, it is understandable that anyone selling height exercise products or tapes does not want you to be aware that as your bones stopped growing, there is nothing you can do to lengthen them further.

Don’t be too sad when your body had grown to its length. There are still a lot of ways you can abide with to improve your looks and at the same time, keep your bones healthy.

For one, your clothing is a factor in improving your height. If you wear stripes and dark colored clothes, you will appear thinner and taller. Also, high heeled footwear improves the height.

This may surprise you but posture is another way to better your height. Although it does not make you really tall, but sitting up or standing up straight makes you look taller and benefits you with a degree of confidence and alertness. Poor posture is not good for the bones and your body in general as it is capable of making you look smaller.

Despite the fact that height exercises do not actually lengthen your height, still exercise is good for the body and the bones. By keeping a regular workout, you will maintain an admirable posture and physique, as it results to a lean and slender body.

In serious cases, others go for surgery to increase their height. However, this must be done with caution for the procedure itself is painful, dangerous and expensive. This kind of surgery is managed by generating gaps within the bone and putting plates in the spaces for the bone to re-grow.
