For doing different kinds of electrical work, an electrician needs different tools like hand tools, power tools and testing equipment. These tools are basic requirement of an electrician with out which they can’t work.
Tools have been improved over the years and many new tools have been developed. Due to this, an electrician has a long list of tools. There are some tools that an electrician must have without which he can not work. These tools are used daily and are very essential for an electrician to carry all the time. These tools are pliers, wire strippers, measuring devices, screwdrivers, nut drivers, power saws, power drivers, labeling machines, fishing tools, hammer and drills.
Normally used electricians tool include, side cutting pliers and needle nose pliers. Also for starting the process of checking an electrical device, an electrician needs a screwdriver or nut driver.
Wire strippers are very useful for an electrician to carry with them as they are used to strip electric wires. Fish tapes are used for working around live circuits. Measuring devices include tools like a measuring tape. Electricians use measuring tape all the time to make simple measurements.
A machine for labeling the work status is also available, an electrician use it to label the amount of work done by him. However the new tools used now are light in weight and powered by electricity due to which electricians life have become very convenient.
Drills are used by electricians to bore a hole in the wall and doing various fixing and installation. An electrician could also use a power saw. An electrician need to choose one among different kinds of saws available in market. It is mainly decided by the kind of work required to be done.
Kind of saws that can be used for doing electrical work are- reciprocating saw, spiral saw, cut off saw, hole saw and portable band saw. Out of all these, reciprocating saw is most handy to use.
New tools are designed to have more comfortable feel and grip. They are light weighted but as powerful as before. They are cordless and more convenient to be used for different places and materials. They enable an electrician to do his job easily, quickly, safely and more efficiently.
