The art of Neuro-Linguistic Programming is one born of academia. It was formulated by a linguist and a psychologist, who found some underlying linguistic structure at work, between different cases of successful therapy. The data from these studies was analysed under a working hypothesis, that language, neural processes, and behaviour are linked, and so techniques were developed to manipulate language in order to produce better thought and behaviour patterns. This article attempts to answer the question of whether just anyone can use the techniques of NLP.
